RENAZA Through the Eyes of Architects
Renaza is a multi-purpose building with a construction area of approximately 13.000 m2 at the intersection of Turan Güneş Boulevard and Doğukent Avenue in Ankara. This multi-purposeness makes itself read with different degrees of stratification in the structure and separation within a whole. The structure is pulled back from all directions in 4 different masses above the shops on the ground, getting lighter and smaller towards the upper floors. In the west, the sharp slope of the Dikmen valley continues in the section and establishes a relationship with its surroundings. Horizontal vertical elements in each mass are covered with natural stone travertine in different tones, which gradually open towards the upper masses.
The architecture of the building follows the principle of separation with autonomous parts of varying heights and features on different floors in the classical architectural façade. With the design of the facade, depth is established in several layers; At the outermost part of each mass, there is an outer frame that defines that mass, behind this frame, vertical elements of different widths covered with travertines of the same color, behind them, smoked colored walls, and finally, smoked colored vertical joinery and a transparent glass facade at the back. This rhythm adds visual movement, rhythm and depth to the façade by pulling back and continuing with its own color and material in each mass. The building is also associated with modern architecture, with its simplicity, mass movements and stratification, apart from the features coming from classical architecture.
With its setup and design, the building aims to be both new and timeless, as if it has been there for many years, and to offer a complex architecture to its users and passers-by with its multi-purpose use, separate entrances of residences, offices (offices), shops (stores).
