Fire resistant doors and windows are the basic building elements of passive fire protection equipment in all structures. All products included in this performance are evaluated and classified within the standards determined by the European Standards Committee. In general, the classification indicator describes the fire protection characteristics and duration. As an illustration, a hinged door classified as “EI260” qualifies a door that blocks flame to pass through the door space, and provides heat insulation during sixty minutes.
